About this service
What garden waste removal bristol actually looks like.
A weekend in the garden has left a mountain on the drive. Bristol’s brown bins only take so much, and they’re slow if you’re not already on the subscription. A van pickup sorts it in under an hour. Pricing’s by volume: a 2-yard pile (about 25 bin bags of trimmings) is £150, 6 yards is £290, 8 yards is £370, a full 10-yard van is £430. No VAT, no call-out fee. I estimate from a photo, confirm on arrival, and load straight away if you’re happy.
What counts as garden waste
Hedge trimmings, branches, leaves, turf, soil, spent bedding plants, old bags of compost — all fine. Garden furniture, broken sheds, old plastic plant pots and rotten decking are mixed garden waste and go on the same run. Rubble from a raised bed or old patio is technically inert waste — I can still take it, but the tip treats it differently so flag it up front.
Why a van beats the tip run
Bristol’s household recycling centres take green waste from householders, but they’ll turn away trailers or anything that looks like trade. For volumes over a couple of bags it’s quicker to book a van than queue on a Saturday. For landscapers and garden-design outfits, trade green waste legally can’t go to a household centre — it has to go through a licensed carrier, which is what I am.

About us
Checkatrade — 9.8/10 · 164 ReviewsBristol Local Van Man — removals and clearance in Bristol.
Bristol Local Van Man is run by Nigel, a Nailsea-based owner-operator with 15+ years in removals and clearance across Bristol, Bath and the wider South West. We handle removals, rubbish clearance, house clearance and office clearance under one roof.
Most jobs are done by Nigel direct. Busy weeks and larger jobs bring in trusted local drivers Nigel has worked with for years — every one carries the same waste-carrier paperwork and works to the same fixed-price standard.
Waste is carried away under our UK registered waste carrier licence (CBDU445737), so items taken off your property go to a licensed facility rather than a side street.

Frequently asked
Garden Waste Removal Bristol— common questions.
How much does garden waste removal in Bristol cost?
£150 for 2 yards (about 25 bin bags), £290 for 6 yards, £370 for 8 yards, £430 for 10 yards. I estimate from a photo and confirm when I arrive.
Do I need to bag the waste first?
Not if you don’t want to — I’ll load loose piles. Bagged just speeds it up. Either is fine.
Can you take garden waste from landscapers in Bristol?
Yes, and you need a licensed carrier — trade green waste can’t go to household tips. I can provide a waste transfer note for your records.
