What carpet removal bristol actually looks like.
Most new floors need the old carpet gone first, and carpet fitters don’t always include removal. I cut old carpet into manageable rolls, lift grippers at the edges where you want them gone, and take underlay on the same run. One room, multiple rooms, or a whole house, all fine. Volume-priced — a typical three-bed carpet strip is 2–6 yards (£150–£290). No VAT, no call-out.
Cut, roll, load
Carpet comes up easiest when it’s cut into strips about a metre wide and rolled tight. Grippers around the perimeter come up with a pry bar — quick but loud. Underlay lifts with the carpet or separately if it’s been stuck down. Staples in the subfloor get left or I can pull them out if the new floor fitter wants it completely clean (small surcharge for the extra time).
Foam-backed, hessian, and the old ones
Foam-backed carpet (cheaper, newer installs) rolls easily and goes as general waste. Hessian-backed with natural underlay is heavier but cleaner. Really old wool-backed carpet from the 70s and 80s is the heaviest of all — and usually dustier, so I’ll sheet doorways if the house is still furnished.
