Hourly pricing (£75/hr solo, £110/hr two-man) with no VAT and no minimum-job padding. Most small moves land in 1–3 hours loaded, driven and unloaded, and I charge the actual time.

What counts as small

Bedsit, studio, single room from a houseshare, or a “just a few boxes plus a bed” kind of move. Typically one van load or less. If you’re moving more than a room’s worth of kit, it starts shading into flat-removal pricing, and either way the hourly rate is the same — it just takes a bit longer.

Packing and timing

Small moves work best if you’re boxed and ready when I arrive. Packing on the day burns hourly time that could be spent moving. I’ll help with furniture dismantling (flat-pack beds, wardrobes, desks) as part of the move time, but packing a pile of unboxed stuff really wants doing the night before.
